China Youth Newspapers & Periodicals Association

China Youth Newspapers & Periodicals Association (CYNPA) is the specialized mass group, composed of various kinds of Youth Newspapers & Periodicals (YNP) of national journalistic circles, which is led and directed by Communist Youth League of China (CYLC). And the National Publishing Office of the People’s Republic of China (NPOPRC).

CYNPA, established in 1988, consists of 74 national YNP, such as China Youth Daily (CYD), the periodical China Youth.

To hold high the banner of Deng Xiaoping theory;

To unite all the national workers working in the press field;

To strengthen the relation and cooperation among YNP;

To protect YNP and their workers' legitimate rights & interests;

To promote the reform and development of Youth Pressing Cause.

To organize the members of the CYNPA to exchange their experience by holding various kinds of academic activities and to publish the journals of the Association;

To discuss the research on the problems of the reform of newspapers 7 periodicals;

To help and train the personnel in the pressing field;

To strengthen the contact with the related sections of Central Government to reflect the practical situation of YNP;

To provide the consulting service about the current policies;

To organize the national news gathering and to appraise the advanced workers;

To organize the contact with such areas as Hong Kong, Macao and other countries.

The highest authority of CYNPA is all the members conference with one meeting once every other three years. The last overall members' conference was held in Oct. 1998. And the new managing executive council & new organization of authority were elected. Hu Chunhua & Yu Shiguang were elected to the honorary presidents of the council. Shi Guoxiong was the president of the council. Li Xueqian, Ma Yijun, Chen Xing, Li Zhiping, Feng Xiaoping & Yang Hongxiang were vice presidents. Li Xueqian acted as the secretary-general. Hao Xianghong, You Wei & Hua Wei were vice secretary-generals.

The conference of the overall members' produced the new managing executive council, including 20 departments, such as propaganda department of CYLC, China Youth Daily, etc. There are four sub-sections which are in charge of the newspaper, the journals, business management & painting and binding. The association published an internal magazine "Youth Newspapers & Periodicals Research" (YNPR).

Except for the routine daily work, in the process of tending to develop into groups and industries, CYNPA will concentrate on solving the problems. CYNPA also devotes itself to take advantage of CYNPA and make the most of its responsibility to coordinate and serve for promoting the development of the cause of CYNPA.
