Chinese Scholar Granted "Youth Scientist" Award
Young Chinese scientist Shi Songhai, 27, was granted the award of "Youth Scientist" co-sponsored by American magazine "Science" and APB on December 5. This is one of the most important awards in the biological field in North America.

His research contributes greatly to his award

American Science Promotion Association in its press communique says the reason for the award to Shi Songhai was due to his outstanding contributions to the research area. Shi Songhai is now engaging in his post-doctoral research in California University of San Francisco. He left the United States on December 5 for Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, for his award and is expected to attend this year's Nobel award-giving ceremony.

Born in Jiangsu, Shi Songhai graduated from Tsinghua University in 1996. During his study in America, he published 3 academic papers as the first writer in the renowned magazine "Science" and "Cell", of which the paper published in "Science" in 1999 was regarded one out of 10 science breakthroughs that same year.
